A 30-year-old Mankato man was arrested after he was found hiding in the attic of a woman’s home following a domestic assault complaint.

Mankato Police say 30-year-old Daniel Durenberger punched a woman in the head several times during an altercation on Sunday. The criminal complaint shows the victim required transfer to the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, where she had surgery to repair a brain bleed.

When he was arrested, officers noted Durenberger had multiple injuries to his upper body, arms, neck, and face which included a bite mark on his chest and numerous fingernail scrapes, abrasions, and contusions.

He is charged with assault and domestic assault by strangulation. The criminal complaint shows Durenberger has two prior domestic assault convictions within the last ten years.
