The Mankato Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a child molestation case, and has arrested a 47-year-old Mankato man on a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Mankato Police say 47-year-old Timothy Jensen was arrested on a preliminary charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Commander Dan Schisel said officers were called after someone reported that Timothy Jensen had sexually assaulted a child, and detectives found there was enough evidence to arrest him, “Obtained through a Cornerhouse interview; that’s where detectives or officers are trained in a special way to determine kind of the occurrence.”

The investigation is ongoing, and limited information is being released, but Schisel said, “There is some correlation in a relationship here.”

The age of the victim is not yet being released but Schisel said, “This is a…a young child.”

More information is expected after Jensen makes his first court appearance on Monday.
