A 54-year-old Mankato man is dead after a two-vehicle crash near Elysian. According to the State Patrol, Steven Roemhildt was traveling westbound on Highway 60. A vehicle driven by 21-year-old Jacob Smith of Lakeville was eastbound when the two vehicles collided. The Patrol says Roemhildt died at the scene. Smith has non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and no alcohol was involved. The crash happened Sunday just after midnight. Eagle Lake Police, Madison Lake Police and Fire, Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Elysian Fire, and Mayo Ambulance Assisted at the scene.
