A 28-year-old Mankato man is facing two felony domestic assault charges and one count of malicious punishment of a child, after the victim’s sister told Mankato Police that their mother’s boyfriend had slammed her brother up against his vehicle and then tackled him to the ground in a snowbank outside of their school after an argument that began because they woke up late.

The sister also told police that Wayne Ayers Jr. hit her brother with a belt the day before.

The criminal complaint shows that Ayers was recently paroled from prison and was living with a woman and her three children.

Court records show that Ayers has a long list of convictions dating back to 2009, which include assault with a dangerous weapon, multiple domestic assaults, several drug possession cases, and being in possession of a gun or ammunition after being convicted of a violent crime.
