A 37-year-old Mankato man with a lengthy criminal history is again jailed, after a domestic assault Thursday night.
Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel said the victim told police that she was giving Joshua Armendariz a ride in her vehicle when he first assaulted her, and then, “The female returned home and a short time later the male broke into the living place and assaulted her again.”
Schisel said the victim was punched in the face several times and was treated at Mayo Clinic Health Systems – Mankato for facial injuries and then released.
Armendariz was arrested without incident, and Schisel said they have asked the county attorney to approve a list of charges that include, “Domestic assault, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree damage to property, stalking, and there was a domestic abuse order in place so that is also another charge — violation of a DANCO order.”
Court records show that Armendariz has previous assault convictions in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2016, and 2016.
His rap sheet also includes convictions for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, and drug possession.
