The Mankato Department of Public Safety has identified a Good Samaritan they say helped save a life this summer, after making a public plea on Friday.

Commander Jeremy Clifton said she, “provided first aid to a motorcycle crash victim that occurred at Riverfront and Madison Avenue on July 5th at about 12:30 in the afternoon.”

The department had been told that the woman was a nurse but they had little other information. Now Commander Dan Schisel said they believe they know her identity. “We received a name over and over again so I’m confident that we have the right person,” he explained.

Schisel said they haven’t been in touch with the woman yet but intend to reach out soon to honor her for what they believe was a heroic action.
