The Mankato Department of Public Safety is searching for a Good Samaritan they say helped save a life this summer.

Operations Commander in charge of the Mankato Department of Public Safety’s Detectives Division Jeremy Clifton.

Commander Jeremy Clifton said they are looking for, “A woman who provided first aid to a motorcycle crash victim that occurred on Riverfront and Madison Avenue on July 5th at about 12:30 in the afternoon.”

They believe she works in the medical profession because Clifton said she, “Identified herself as a nurse on the scene and provided first aid to the motorcycle rider.”

Clifton explained that they want to honor her for what they believe was a heroic action because, “Based on what we’ve heard she would certainly be recognized by our city as someone who provided some life-saving measures for a person, another community member in need.”

As for the rider, who was seriously hurt, Clifton said he’s currently, “Okay. I don’t know the extent or the longevity of his injuries so I don’t know that I can speak about that but okay.”

Anyone that may be able to connect the department with the mystery woman is asked to call the police department.
