A Mankato woman is facing charges after police say she drove to a fire station following a domestic dispute in which two people were cut with a knife.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel says the crew at Fire Station 3, at the corner of Pohl Road and Balcerzak Drive, noticed 35-year-old Lana Erickson sitting in a running car in the parking lot early Saturday morning.

“The firefighter went outside to check on the female and discovered that she had been involved in an earlier disturbance and she had a child in the car,” he explained.

Further investigation led officers to Erickson’s home, where Schisel said, “It was learned that a male and his relative had been cut with a knife.”

Neither victim required medical attention, Schisel said, and he added that Erickson drove to the station, “With a child in the car and had been under the influence.”

Schisel says Erickson’s eight-year-old daughter was turned over the family members. She is charged with drunk driving and assault with a dangerous weapon causing harm.
