A Mankato Police officer was injured during an investigation into accusations that a woman vandalized an Uber driver’s car, after officials say she let her dog loose when the officer arrived at her home.

The criminal complaint shows that Officer Matthew Vitale went to 26-year-old Mary Boettcher’s home after the Uber driver reported that she broke his windshield and damaged his phone.

Vitale was bitten five times on his legs, after he says Boettcher ordered the 25 pound dog to kill him.

Boettcher is charged with felony assault on a police officer, felony property damage and obstructing the legal process.
