The Mankato Department of Public Safety says a 20-year-old Mankato woman was arrested early this (Wed) morning after an assault call at Highland Hills Apartments just after midnight.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Matt DuRose.

“There was a female victim that had been standing outside of an apartment with a friend, who was approached by another female. At that time they exchanged some type of conversation. It’s believed they are acquaintances or know each other from previous involvements,” explained Commander Matt DuRose.

It’s not clear what was said in that conversation, but DuRose says Botobayto Ogud then threatened and assaulted the woman. “The suspect began punching the female victim,” he said, “And during the confrontation and altercation also threatened to kill the victim’s family as well.”

DuRose says the victim was punched once in the face and there were, “No serious injuries. There wasn’t any medical summoned to the scene or anything noted in the reports at all.”

Ogud is being held in the Blue Earth County Jail on a preliminary charge of making terroristic threats.
