A Mapleton man is charged with two counts of drug possession and one of drugged driving after 20-year-old Aaron Schauer was pulled over Sunday afternoon for speeding.
The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office says there were two children in the car under the age of five.
The deputy that stopped Schauer for speeding near Highways 83 and 22 noted that even though it was a sunny day his pupils were dilated – indicating possible meth use.
Schauer claimed he had not used methamphetamine since New Year’s Day but failed sobriety tests. He then admitted to using meth the night before with his boss.
A blood test was collected but the results aren’t back from the BCA yet. Jail staff, however, say they found meth in Schauer’s wallet when he was being processed at the jail.
