A group of bipartisan state lawmakers is urging the Walz administration and state Health Department to prioritize getting the COVID vaccine out to seniors. State epidemiologist Kris Ehresmann says she understands the concern but adds…

“I want to be very clear we are still receiving a small supply of vaccine each week from the federal government, while we have more vaccine available to seniors this week than we ever have, it’s still a drop in the bucket.”

Earlier this week, Governor Walz announced more than 35-thousand Minnesotans age 65-plus may have access to COVID vaccines starting this week at more than 100 locations across the state. Several state lawmakers in a letter to the governor wrote: “when making life and death decisions for Minnesota, we urge you to remember Minnesota seniors aged 65 and older first and foremost.”
