Over one thousand new COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend in Minnesota. Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcom says many of the new cases are being reported in five hot spots.

“A quarter of all the cases we’re seeing right now are being reported in those five counties that are experiencing significant outbreaks from food processing facilities,” said Malcom. “That powerfully illustrates how quickly things can change at the community level and that’s a deep concern to all of us in the state.”

Malcom says those counties include Nobles, Stearns, Martin, Kandiyohi and Cottonwood.
