The state Health Department is reporting 24 new deaths from COVID-19 and 1,714 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests. Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says there is some reason for optimism…

“The bottom line is there are genuine pieces of good news in these data as what would be a massive vaccination effort slowly ramps up, we’ve seen a downward trend in new cases and hospitalizations, and some stability in the numbers now.”

Malcolm is thanking Minnesotans for continuing to limit social gatherings, maintaining social distancing, and wearing masks out in public.
