CSL Plasma is now required to allow transgender and non-binary Minnesotans to donate plasma without being turned away because of their gender identity. It’s part of an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR) which sued the plasma collection center for violating the Minnesota Human Rights Act.

“At the end of the day, we just want to make sure that everyone who wants to donate is able to do so and that their gender identity is not a reason that they’re prohibited from doing so.”

MDHR Commissioner Rebecca Lucero says every employer and business “needs to take a step back and ask “do [their] policies and procedures have an impact that is discriminatory?”
