MnDOT and the City of Elysian will host a meeting on January 16 to gather input on the possibility of a new pedestrian crossing on Highway 60.

Officials say the meeting at the Elysian City Hall will focus on reviewing current traffic and weighing the impact of a pedestrian crossing.

MnDOT is currently developing a project in 2020 for Highway 60 from the junction with Highway 14 to the junction with Highway 13 in Waterville. Work will include resurfacing the roadway, updating pedestrian access and implementing additional lighting. Approximately 16-million dollars has been set aside for the project.

The meeting on Tuesday, January 16 will start at 6 p.m.
