A coalition of activists is calling for accountability after this week’s release of Minneapolis police body camera footage showing officers beating a man who had surrendered and talking about “hunting people” during the riots after George Floyd’s murder. Jaylani Hussein with the Council on American-Islamic Relations Minnesota says the video shows police abusing their power:

“In this video we clearly see the pattern of behavior that many of the peaceful protestors have reported–that many people failed to react, respond and do something about it.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey used the word “galling” in response to the footage.
