Another negative unemployment benchmark has been reached in Minnesota.

“We now have 536,742 unemployment claims,” said Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Steve Grove. “To put that number into context we had 450-thousand unemployment claims during the great recession of 2009.

Grove says totals are since March 16th. Nationwide, 26 million Americans are out of work in connection to government-mandated business closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
