Minnesota employers reported nearly 114-thousand job vacancies in the fourth quarter of 2017, up 16-percent from the same period the year before.

“The vacancies that seem to be kind of building up right now are the openings that pay the least– food service, retail, personal care — for example PCA’s.” says Oriane Casale  is with the state Department of Employment and Economic Development.

Casale says for every 100 jobs in the state, there were 4.2 openings.
