The Minnesota Nurses Association says progress is being made in contract negotiations between their organization and Mayo Clinic Mankato. MNA spokesperson Rick Fuentes says the two sides negotiated from nine a.m. until five p.m. Monday. Fuentes called it a good discussion and said progress was made. He added an Unfair Labor Practice filing made by Mayo against the MNA was dismissed and the organization has adjusted how many nurses can participate in the contract negotiations. Mayo Clinic Regional Chief Nursing Officer Laura Evenson said discussions were cordial and added they had good conversations regarding several important topics. Evenson said Mayo is looking forward to their next meeting on February 13th. A previous three-year contract between the two sides ended in September.
