The League of Women Voters of St. Peter and the Greater Mankato Diversity Council will host Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon next Wednesday.
President Lynn Solo says Simon will talk about the security of the state’s election system at 7:00 p.m. at the St Peter Middle School Theater. It’s free and open to the public, and those that can’t make it can watch on either St. Peter Public Access TV or Mankato’s KTV.
His presentation will be followed by a question and answer period.
In his inaugural address Secretary Simon pledged to “work with anyone, of any political affiliation, form any part of our state” to protect, defend, and strengthen the right to vote in Minnesota.
His initiatives include the Minnesota Students Vote 2016, the Minnesota College Ballot Bowl, and the “Your Vote Matters” High School Education Program.
