(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Supreme Court denies Derek Chauvin’s request for a public defender. Chauvin was denied a public defender last month, appealed the decision to the Supreme Court, and was denied again earlier this week. Chauvin could request a public defender again in the future if it’s determined he can’t pay for his own lawyer. He’s expected to appeal his conviction in the murder of George Floyd.
