The two-year-old child from South Carolina that had been missing for more than a month was found in Iowa and taken into protective custody, and her parents have been arrested.
Police say Dakota Ray was taken by her parents, William and Jessica Ray, on April 15th. She had been removed from their custody for safety reasons and police say the parents are believed to be heavy methamphetamine users.
They were seen Monday in Marshall, Minnesota and the child was recovered late Thursday after they were spotted at an Iowa Walmart. Police pulled the vehicle over near Decorah and rescued the child.
