Minnesota’s delegation voted along strict party lines as the Democrat-controlled U-S House removed Georgia Republican freshman Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments for, they say, spreading hateful and violent conspiracy theories. Fifth District Congresswoman Ilhan Omar said on the House floor:

“This is about whether it is okay to hold an assault rifle next to members’ heads in a campaign ad, and incite death threats against them.”

But 1st District Republican Congressman Jim Hagedorn says the vote was not about standards or principles, but “raw political power.” He says it’s “just the latest step by Democrats to silence the 75 million Americans who supported President Trump and divide our nation further.”
