The state Department of Human Services is offering a new free resource that connects people with disabilities to support workers during COVID-19. It’s called “Direct Support Connect”.

“It’s a way for people with disabilities and elders to find and elders to find workers who can go through the hiring process and train and ultimately lead to a successful direct support professional relationship with the person that’s using services.”

Spokeswoman Natasha Merz says the service allows people who hire direct support workers to post job descriptions that include location, pay range, supports needed and desired schedule. And people looking for work can view job openings compatible with their skills, schedule and work goals. You can find out more at directsupportconnnect.com.
