The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting an open house next week to talk about the upcoming construction projects on Highway 22 from Mapleton to Blue Earth County Road 90 south of Mankato.

Officials say they will provide information about the detour and construction staging maps, and the contractor will be there to answer any questions or concerns.

The first stretch of construction from Highway 22 in Mapleton to Blue Earth County Road 15, an extension of last year’s work, is expected to resume April 16th.

Work is scheduled to begin in May on the roundabout at Highway 22 and County Road 90.Left turn lanes will also be added into residential areas north and south of County Road 90, and they’ll build a snow fence in the northwest corner to reduce drifting.

Throughout the spring and summer work will continue along Highway 22 for the Victory Drive Memorial Corridor project. Most of the work will focus on the removal of trees and clearing things out in preparation for landscaping.

The open house is April 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the DuPont Pioneer Research Facility on Highway 22 in Mankato.
