After a delay caused by rainy weather last week, the Minnesota Department of Transportation now says Highway 109 from Wells to Alden is expected to open to traffic this Friday. MnDot originally hoped to have it open last Friday.

Officials do say that finishing work throughout the project will continue and drivers are asked to watch for workers along that route.

Highway 109 has been under construction since May 7 and motorists detoured to Highway 22. The project has a total cost of $5,800,000.
