The Mankato Department of Public Safety has released more information in the Sunday arrest of a 20-year-old Woodbury man after investigating a weapons complaint at a home on Jaycee Court Sunday night at around 9:30.

The 911 caller asked dispatchers to send police quickly, “Because there’s a gun with lots of bullets!’

Commander Dan Schisel termed it a domestic incident involving a gun, and said when officers arrived says three men and one woman came out of the apartment and, “There was a fourth male that tried to go out of a second-story window, however thought better (of it) and then came out of the apartment.”

Schisel said Emmanuel tried to climb out of the window after he threatened one of the other men in the home during an argument over a relationship issue and, “Pointed a loaded semi-automatic handgun at an individual and made some threats.”

According to the criminal complaint, the woman who lives in the apartment began dating Willies in January, and when she confronted him about a relationship with another woman he slapped her in the face. He’s also accused of trying to strangle her.

She asked friends to come over because she intended to break off the relationship and feared for her safety. That’s when investigators say Willies pointed a 9mm handgun at one of the victim’s friends. He denied pointing the gun at anyone.

Schisel said the gun was found at the scene. Nobody was hurt. The others at the apartment are not expected to face charges.

Court records show Willies has a prior conviction for burglary, and is not legally able to possess a gun. He is charged with possession of a gun and ammunition after a felony conviction, possession of a gun with an altered serial number, six counts of domestic assault, and giving police a false name.
