Minnesota State University, Mankato’s College of Business’ Department of Accounting and Business Law will again offer free volunteer income tax assistance to community members who need help preparing their returns.

The services are available to individuals with an annual income of $35,000 or less and families or self-employed taxpayers with annual incomes of $55,000 or less.

The volunteer tax preparers are IRS-certified, and officials say there are no hidden fees.

The service will begin Friday and be offered Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in February and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in March. However, no services are available March 9 during spring break week.

Tax help is available by appointment only – that can be done online. Google MNSU Vita for more information.
