The Minnesota National Guard is now completely removed from state nursing homes. The guard members were deployed to 50 nursing homes across the state to help with staffing shortages during the COVID-19 wave of last fall and winter. The last team inside a home left Tuesday. Almost none of the National Guard members had prior nursing experience and were trained as certified assistants and temporary aides to nurses.
