Police report a New Ulm man was arrested on Wednesday following an investigation into a reported burglary in December.
According to Authorities, Scott Swenstad allegedly stole items from a camper and construction trailer in rural St. James. New Ulm Police say the trailer was later recovered in Watonwan County and attempts were made to burn the trailer. A victim reported the stolen items were at Swenstad’s residence.
Agents executed a search warrant on Wednesday and also found narcotics at Swensted’s home; a second search warrant was later received for the drugs.
Swenstad has been charged with Receiving Stolen Property, 5th Degree Possession of Drugs, Felon Convicted of Crime of Violence-Firearm Violation and Felon in Possession of Ammo.
Charges are pending for three other suspects reportedly involved in the incident.
