The Nicollet County Historical Society is opening the tenth season of its Films on First Thursdays documentary film series with “The Wrecking Crew.”

The Magnolia Pictures documentary explores the backing band on many hits from the 60s and the 70s, including for The Beach Boys, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Sonny and Cher.

The musicians were not publicly recognized in their era, but are now considered one of the most successful and prolific session recording units in music history.

The documentary showing will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Peter High School and admittance is free. It is rated PG for language, thematic elements, and smoking images.
