North Mankato has hired Nate Host as its new Director of Public Works.

Host joins North Mankato after serving as the Assistant Project Manager for M.A. Mortenson Construction Company in Minneapolis. He led projects that include the University of Minnesota Athletic Village and the Mall of America expansion.

“Nate brings strong credentials and a proven history of high-quality project completions to this position,” said John Harrenstein, North Mankato City Administrator. “He and his Public Works team will continue to be responsive to the needs of our City, now and into the future.”

Host received his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, with a minor in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.

He will begin his duties with North Mankato on Monday.

“Nate’s experience as a construction manager, project engineer and team leader make him an ideal person for this position,” says North Mankato Mayor Mark Dehen. “He joins a talented team of Public Works professionals who are dedicated to providing the best possible service to our community.”

The North Mankato Public Works Department oversees parks, water, streets, storm water management, mechanic’s shop and recycling.
