(Federal Dam, MN) — A six-year-old girl is dead after a snowmobile crashed in rural Federal Dam Monday afternoon. The Cass County Sheriff’s office says a 35-year-old woman was operating a 2004 Ski-Doo at a residence when it launched down an embankment and into a tree. Responding officers performed lifesaving efforts on a young girl, who was a passenger on the machine, but she died. The woman was treated for injuries and released. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy. Investigators are still looking into the accident.
