An online fundraiser has been set up to help with the funeral expenses of a man who was murdered at his home in Tennessee, allegedly at the hands of his son – a Minnesota State University Mankato student.

Not quite $2,000 has been raised of the $20,000 goal. Organizers of the GoFundMe effort say that until the funeral expenses for Timothy Jordi are paid, a headstone cannot be purchased and placed – and it’s very important to them that his grave be marked.

Timothy Jordi was found with multiple stab wounds in March and his 21-year-old son Joshua Jordi is accused of killing his father.

Jordi was absent from the MSU-Mankato campus that weekend, and police say a later search of his dorm room at the Crawford Residence Hall uncovered a map of his father’s home and two knives. Investigators say what appeared to be blood was later found in a search of Jordi’s car.
