Opponents of Line 3 vow to continue their fight in the courts as Enbridge announced its pipeline upgrade across northern Minnesota will be operational by tomorrow (Fri). Winona LaDuke with Honor the Earth says:
“Federal courts have consistently ruled against pipeline projects…. These are export pipelines for profits in the middle of a climate crisis.”
Republican state Representative Josh Heintzeman from Nisswa says opponents are not targeting only Line 3:
“It’s not just this particular pipeline. It happens to be *any* pipeline improvement or construction project.”
Opponents say it’s time to transition away from fossil fuels and the best way is to stop building new pipelines.
