(Minneapolis, MN) — A top infectious disease expert calls the ruling to strike down the mask mandate “a real challenge.” Appearing on ABC’s This Week, the University of Minnesota’s Dr. Michael Osterholm noted that just because Americans are done with the pandemic, “the virus is not done with us.” He went on to say that the mask mandate won’t end the need for public health measures since trends in the pandemic could always change. However, Dr. Osterholm recognized “that’s what the public is not willing to hear.”
