Story-lovers of all experience levels are invited to share, or simply listen to, true personal stories of “new beginnings” on Thursday at the Arts Center of Saint Peter.

Inspired by The Moth Radio Hour, a broadcast series airing on more than 400 radio stations nationwide, the independent February 8 event is the creation of Arts Center of Saint Peter board member Lindsay Prunty, who co-hosts the evening with master of ceremonies Ben Findley.

Prunty co-hosted a similar event at the Arts Center last fall and said, “The gallery is perfect, it’s so intimate,” and added that at the previous event they, “Heard wonderful, funny, sad, moving stories.”

Those who wish to participate as storytellers are asked to arrive between 7:00-7:30 p.m., put their name in a hat, and be ready to tell an approximately five-minute story when called in random order.

Preparation is recommended, but stories are told spontaneously, not read or scripted.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for cash refreshments by Patrick’s on Third and Morgan Creek Vineyards, and viewing of the Arts Center’s current exhibitions. The Program begins at 7:30 p.m. The event is free, and for mature audiences.
