Minnesota Congressman and U-S House Ag Committee Chair Collin Peterson says President Trump imposing tariffs on Mexico will make it “almost impossible” to ratify the U-S/Mexico/Canada trade agreement. Democrat Peterson warns Mexico could slap a tariff on dairy products or something else:

“I think there’ll be some kind of retaliation, I would expect. Then we’ll get into some dispute situation over NAFTA. I don’t think there’s any good outcome out of this, from what I can see.”

The president says he plans to impose tariffs effective June 10th, starting at 5 percent and increasing to 25 percent if Mexico doesn’t convince him it’s doing more to stem illegal immigration.
