Police in Blue Earth say they chased Chase for miles in a car, and then chased him on foot for a while until they found his hiding place.
An officer tried to pull 33-year-old Chase James of Lakefield for speeding Sunday night, but the criminal complaint shows that he took off and sped through several red lights before the car crashed into a snow bank. The officer says James ran off, but was found hiding not long after.
The report also shows that James smelled of marijuana, had pot in his possession, and refused to take a blood test.
Investigators also say that a K9 following the route James took while trying to run away found another bag of marijuana.
James is charged Monday with felony counts of running from police in a vehicle and drug possession, gross misdemeanor DWI and bringing drugs into jail, and several other misdemeanors.
