A 46-year-old Mankato man is facing two preliminary felony criminal sexual conduct charges after a woman told police that he raped her on Saturday.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety says the woman told them that she was hanging out at a bonfire at a home in the city when Ezequiel Campos picked up her backpack and took it into his home next door.

When she tried to retrieve her belongings, the victim says Campos forcibly sexually assaulted her.

Initially, Campos called the victim a tease and said that they did not have sex but when investigators reminded him that DNA evidence that had been collected would be tested against his, Campos changed his story and claimed they had consensual sex.
