“We will not be afraid, but we will stand up and we will continue to protest, we will continue to take to the streets. these barricades and all this fencing and barbed wire will not stop us from getting in the street and speaking truth to power.”

The protestors are calling for justice in Floyd’s death. A coordinated law enforcement effort is already underway to try to prevent riots like those that broke out in the aftermath of Floyd’s killing. The demonstrators say they plan to protest “no matter what.”

“We do this for George Floyd, but we do this for every victim in the state of Minnesota, those whose names we know, and those whose names we do not know.”
