Red Cross in Minnesota has now sent 56 volunteers to the East Coast to help with aid in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

The organization’s Megan Mrozek says, “In total the American Red Cross has 2,600 workers on the ground right now, and there’s more than 500 on the way and we expect to be sending additional workers not only in the coming days, but in the months to come, because we’re going to be on the ground there for a long time.”

Mrozek says the workers are focused on keeping everybody safe and providing safe shelter as rain continues to fall.
