A Swedish company is recognizing what many Minnesotans already know — the land of ten-thousand lakes has some of the best fishing around. Fishing equipment maker ABU Garcia recently ranked the top 100 fishing spots in the U.S., and nine of them are in Minnesota. At the top for the state, and number four in the U.S., was the Red River of the North, on the border with North Dakota. The other spots include Mille Lacs, Boundary Waters, Lake of the Woods, Rainy Lake, Leech Lake, Mississippi River pools at Red Wing, Lake Vermillion and Lake Minnetonka.
