An outside review is revealing issues with the Minnesota law enforcement’s response to unrest following the death of George Floyd in May 2020.  The report from independent firm the Wilder Foundation was released yesterday.  It pointed out overwhelmed first responders to the initial unrest and incidents of heavy-handed and violent tactics used.  The Department of Public Safety contracted with the independent firm to review the response as a way to determine how law enforcement can be more effective in dealing with similar events.
