The Saint Peter City Council has signed off on seven various purchases totaling over 1.6-million dollars as part of the River’s Edge Hospital expansion.
“You don’t get a lot of chances to do this and when it doesn’t go well, it costs you lots of money later,” said City Administrator Todd Prafke. “So, let’s try and do it right the first time. Let’s be methodical and thoughtful, and we have so many people that are so passionate about wanting to make this thing really be all that it can be for our community.”
Hospital Officials have been approved to purchase new TV’s for patient rooms and waiting areas, cabling, telephone equipment, nurse call system, an upgraded security system, furniture and food service items.
“The hospital is really one of those big thick important threads in the fabric of our community. So, in order to do these things well, we have to be able to provide the kind of services and the kind of equipment that provide for those services within that hospital.”
The items to be purchased were included in the hospitals overall 33.8-million dollar budget for the expansion and renovation project.
