River’s Edge Hospital and Clinic in Saint Peter is investing in a new 55-thousand dollar machine to help integrate electronic health record documentation.

Monday night the City Council approved the request to purchase a Mindray A7 Anesthesia Machine to replace an older unit.

River’s Edge CEO, George Rohrich.

CEO George Rohrich says the two operating rooms at the hospital are set up with the same equipment.

“So it’s really easy for staff to move from one room to the other. Additionally, this is the equipment that will integrate to the computers that are running our electronic health records. So, it’s really important. It captures all that information through the case that this machine is monitoring.”

As a member of the Group Purchasing Organization, River’s Edge was able to save over 46-thousand dollars on the total price of the unit.

The Hospital plans to have the machine in operation by July 1.
