Construction begins on Monday on Highway 14 from Sleepy Eye to New Ulm.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is spending $3.2 million to resurface the highway, upgrade guardrail, and put in rumble strips to improve traffic safety.
There will be lane restrictions, and the work is expected to take about a month.
Also on Monday, a portion of Third Avenue (from Highway 14 to Riverfront Drive) in Mankato will be closed at 8:00 a.m. for work on the railroad crossing. The road is expected to reopen by end of day Tuesday.
