Saturday is Youth Waterfowl Day in Minnesota.

The DNR’s Jeff Burnham said kids 15 and younger can go waterfowl hunting when accompanied by an adult who is not hunting because, “You know, know maybe their family doesn’t do it but they can connect with somebody that is more than happy to take them out and show them what this stuff is about.”

The adult does not need a license and Burnham said, “It’s a tremendous resource for these kids that…. you know — sometimes kids that want to do this stuff don’t necessarily come from families that hunt and fish.”
