Officials at South Central College are hopeful that the legislature will come through with the money they need to fix roofs on buildings on both the North Mankato and Faribault campuses, through the Minnesota State system’s asset preservation portion of the bonding bill.

The system requested $130 million for such projects, but the recently introduced House bill allocated just $40 million. If the House version is adopted this session, SCC may or may not see those projects funded and officials say they won’t know which way it will go until the final bill is approved.

The Senate has not yet introduced it’s version of the legislation.

Governor Mark Dayton’s proposal is nearly double that of the House G.O.P. plan.
